Every portrait describes a unique, creative collaboration between the sitter and the artist.
I offer each client a description of the portrait process and invite clear communication from the beginning of the project. With this, I hope to create a satisfying piece and offer a successful and imaginative experience.
Initially, we explore the general visual aesthetic that will comprise the finished piece. The choice of aesthetic conveys the message and sensation that we seek.
For each portrait, I create several sketches and a final study. A study is a detailed, color-balanced piece, where the general composition and look of the portrait is presented.
Following the sign-off on the final study, I immediately begin work on the piece. I have always felt this is where the real magic begins. The imagination and inspiration the sitter and I have developed in the study brilliantly comes alive.
